Get Your Website Mobile Friendly By April 21

Get your website mobile friendly by April 21

Reading back through my last few blog posts, it seems that I am on a mission to get your website mobile friendly. However, there is a good reason for this. Google has just announced that on April 21st they will be changing their search algorithm to put more emphasis on mobile-friendliness for mobile search.

What does this mean to you?

This means, that if your website isn't mobile friendly, then your website will most likely not come up in any mobile searches. Considering that most of our websites have between 30-50% of their visitors coming to them from a mobile device, this is a big impact. Can you afford to potentially lose half your website business?

How do you know if your website is considered mobile friendly by Google?

This is the easy part thanks to Google. Simply go to www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ and put your website address in. Within seconds Google will tell you if they consider it mobile friendly.

What do you do if it fails the mobile friendly test?

You essentially need to get your website redesigned. Google recommends that you get a responsive design website as these will respond to whatever size screen they are being viewed in to ensure they are easy to read and navigate.
