Profile:

Fallon Services is a trade services business based in Brisbane. They provide Electrical, Plumbing, Air Conditioning, Handyman and several other services throughout Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. They have over 100 employees and 50 vehicles.

As you can imagine, marketing is an important part of their operation to ensure that there is enough work bought in every week to keep everyone busy.

Issues:

  • Client had been using Adwords for a while, but not happy with the conversion rate. Their Adwords company blamed the website.
  • Their website was a few years old and looking tired. They couldn't update it and had to go to Web Designer for any changes.
  • Not doing as well as they wanted in Natural Search (Google etc).

Needs:

  • A professional looking website that they could update if they wanted. Must be easily optimised to increase Natural Search.
  • Wanted the ability to sell Products on their site in the future (eg. Light fittings etc)
  • Wanted to start sending out electronic emails to their large client database, as well as allowing prospects to sign up.
  • Liked the ability to easily publish Handy Hints and Announcements.
  • Clear "Call to Action" boxes/buttons to maximise conversion of traffic (paid and unpaid)
  • Website Optimisation Plan to improve Natural Search traffic and conversion

Solution:

  • Designed and built a professional looking website using the Adobe Business Catalyst platform. This is a dynamic platform that allows the client to easily update their own website.
  • Included the eCommerce module, which we initially set up to display Hot Water Systems, TV Antennas, Air Conditioners and Ceiling Fans. This is display only at this stage.
  • Included the eMarketing Module for Newsletters. Uploaded their current Database and set up a "Sign Up", which automatically gave the Prospect access to a discount voucher after opting into Newsletter.
  • Set up a Blog for Handy Hints and an Announcement Module to easily publish current news etc.
  • Ensured that the design included clear "Call to Action" boxes and buttons. Call to Action boxes added to all key landing pages.
  • Started client on the "Gold" web marketing plan. This included:
    • All tasks required in our Web Marketing Plan.
    • Managing Database, Newsletters, Blogs and Announcement as well as any client content requirements.

Results (as at Jan 2015 – 5 year period)

  • Website completed and operating as planned.
  • Organic Search Traffic up from around 1 500/month to 15 000/month. This is an increase of 1000%.
  • Organic Search Goal Conversion^ up from less than 118*/month to between 400-800/month (853 in January 2015). This is an increase of 622%.

^ Goal Conversions are Web Form Completions
* Goals weren't tracked until we started the Optimisation. The 118 is from the first month of the Plan and after the Website was rebuilt. So the actual figure was less than this (but not sure how much).
